PROFILE OF PROF. STEPHEN ANANG ANKAMAH-LOMOTEY, BSc, PGDip, MSc, PhD, FCILG
Stephen Anang Ankamah-Lomotey, BSc (Chem), PGDip (OSHEM), MSc (OSHEM), PhD (Healthcare Admin) is currently a Professor at RKU College of Health, (Department of Science and Counselling Psychology at the Grace International Bible University, Maryland, USA. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Public Administration (GIMPA) and a visiting lecturer at the Psychology Department of the University of Ghana, Legon where he lectures in Occupational Accidents and aspects of Occupational Safety and Health. He further lectures Fundamentals of Occupational Safety and Health at the BT Institute, a School of Management for Francophone students in Ghana.
For the past 15 years and more, he has lectured in three Universities in Occupational Safety and Health in general. With his rich industry background spanning 27 years as the Metropolitan Director of the Factories Inspectorate, he has taught different courses in various factories in Ghana. He still facilitates and consults for various industries, contributes to government policy making in the area of occupational safety, health, and environmental management in Ghana.
Prof. Stephen Ankamah-Lomotey is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance. He is also a member of
the Ghana Institute of Safety and Environmental Professionals (GhISEP), a Certificated Counsellor with the Ghana National Association of Certificated Counsellors (GNACC), and a Certified Facilitator for Prepare Enrich, Ghana. He facilitates courses preparing students for the National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), USA and Institute of Safety and Security Studies (ISSS). He is a Board Member of the Bureau of Public Safety (BPS), Ghana. He further serves as the Chairman of Teacher Training Programmes for the Children’s Ministry of the Church of Pentecost International where he once served as the Deputy Children’s Director for 16 years. Currently, he is an Executive Member of the National Executive of the Counselling Ministry.
For six years, he served on the Environmental Management Plan Approving Committee of the Environmental Protection Agency. He was the Ghana Representative for the International Association of Labour Inspectors (IALI) in Geneva, Switzerland. His membership on the Quality Assurance Committee of the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) contributed extremely to the accreditation of many Vocational and Technical Institutions in Ghana. Prof. Ankamah-Lomotey is very resourceful and has a number of Country Papers and other publications on Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management to his credit.
